Oscar Isaac Addresses If Moon Knight’s Midnight Sons Will Join MCU

Date:

Oscar Isaac addresses the possibility of Moon Knight and the Midnight Sons joining the MCU, and he thinks the supernatural team would be cool to do.

Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac wants to see the Midnight Sons join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s been a few years since Marvel Studios first confirmed plans for Moon Knight to join the expanding shared universe in Phase 4. The Moon Knight series debuting on Disney+ at the end of March 2022 is highly anticipated for its ability to show a darker side of Marvel, while also exploring mental illness, Egyptian mythology, and some supernatural elements. All of this is possible through the introduction of Oscar Isaac’s MCU superhero.

Since Moon Knight has not yet made his MCU debut, Marvel Studios has not confirmed plans for where audiences will see him again next. Unlike the announcement that Kamala Khan will be in The Marvels after Ms. Marvel, the next destination for Oscar Isaac’s Marc Spector/Steven Grant is a mystery. This has left fans to speculate about where Moon Knight will fit in with the MCU’s future. A look towards the comics can provide several clues, and many have gravitated towards the idea of him being part of Marvel’s supernatural Avengers team known as the Midnight Sons.

Now, Oscar Isaac has addressed the possibility of Moon Knight working with the Midnight Sons in the future. The Moon Knight star is in the midst of a global press tour that includes various premieres for the Disney+ MCU series. While attending the US premiere, Oscar Isaac spoke to Comicbook on the red carpet and briefly touched on the possibility of the Midnight Sons coming together. Unsurprisingly, Isaac is also very interested in seeing the team form.

It’s an amazing amount of comics and it’s cool. It would be a cool group to see, wouldn’t it?

Moon Knight joins the Midnight Sons.

The Midnight Sons have been part of Marvel Comics since 1992 when Doctor Strange helped form the supernatural team. Moon Knight’s arrival in Phase 4 makes him the latest member of the team that fans have pointed out as now being involved with the MCU, as Blade and Werewolf by Night’s debuts are also on the horizon. Isaac has even expressed interest in seeing the Midnight Sons team consist of Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, Punisher, and Daredevil. Marvel Studios has not announced any plans to feature the team in the MCU, but the Moon Knight star’s expressed interest is noteworthy.

There is great potential for the MCU to do something different with Midnight Sons, which is why the team is regularly brought up when talking about the future. Marvel Studios is quite clearly gearing up for more supernatural properties with Blade and the Halloween special, so Moon Knight and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could help establish a need for a supernatural team. At this rate, it’ll be more surprising if the Midnight Sons don’t assemble in some form. The biggest question left is just where that will happen after Moon Knight.
