While summer is slowly drawing to a close, there is still time to get in some last-minute business events to make the most of the weather before everything gets dark, wet, and cold.
However, unlike if you were planning something in May, there is a lot less time to throw something together that will entice people to give up their final hours of summer, which is why this guide has been created.
This piece is going to go through what you need to throw your last business event of summer and how you can make it a success.
Read on to find out what you need to do!
Choose a Great Venue
If you want your employees and other general members of the public to choose their last summer days to join a business event, the last thing you want is to host it at your workplace. Make sure to go all out and choose a venue that is going to inspire people to come. This could be anything from picturesque gardens to a state-of-the-art building. Whatever you choose, make sure it is easy to get to, offers adequate parking, and has accommodation nearby if required.
Ask yourself if your venue is somewhere you want to visit, and if the answer is no, it is not the right place.
Food and Drink
The food and drink are one of the main reasons that you can get more people to an event. Make it something that could be enjoyed by everyone but interesting enough that they will not say, “I can get that another time”. Hiring out catering is usually the best bet when it comes to throwing an event. You might find your chosen venue will offer this option, but if not, do your research and be sure to pick a couple of options, so there is something to suit everyone.
This also goes for the drink option too!
Having a standard bar at an event might be common practice, but try and think outside of the box and provide something novel too. This could be anything from a smoothie bar to an iced tea company such as B.W Cooper’s Iced Tea. Make it something enticing and interesting to get people there. Not everyone will want to drink alcohol, and a selection of flavored iced tea is something different for everyone to try.
Entertainment
Entertainment is yet another crucial aspect of throwing a great event, and even more so if you are asking people to give up some of the last of their summertime to you! It will also do well to think outside the box here and book something that people will not be able to refuse. Circus acts, aerial dancers, an exceptional live band, or a comedian can clinch the deal! Just make sure to work within your budget and choose something that will appeal to the majority of your potential audience for maximum happy attendees!
