Black Panther just received a massive power upgrade that turns the hero into the Red Panther with an even stronger armor than ever.
Warning! Spoilers for Avengers #53 by Marvel Comics
As the Avengers deal with a surprise sneak attack courtesy of the Multiversal Masters of Evil, Black Panther just became the Red Panther in one of his biggest power upgrades ever. In Avengers #53, T’Challa comes face-to-face with the most powerful Doctor Doom from across the Multiverse. To take him on, Black Panther activates his red armor, which features numerous upgrades to his usual Wakandan suit.
Black Panther has one of the strongest armors in Marvel Comics, as his usual Wakandan-made suit is packed full of incredible tech and defensive protocols. During his reign as the ruler of Wakanda, T’Challa has sported a suit that’s had cloaking technology, different offensive attacks such as wrist blasters and metal claws, as well as numerous energy dampening abilities – and that’s just scratching the bottom of the barrell of his armor’s capabilities. Since his costume is made of Vibranium, the Black Panther is one of the most well-protected Avengers, as penetrating his armor is a challenge for even his greatest enemies. Now, Black Panther is getting a new upgrade and becoming the Red Panther.
In Avengers #53 by Jason Aaron, Juan Frigeri, David Curiel, and VC’s Cory Petit, Black Panther deals with a surprise attack from Kid Thanos and Doctor Doom Supreme on Avengers headquarters. With Namor, Valkyrie and Deathlok, the quartet of heroes fight against the powerful Multiversal threats as they try to take down the Celestial base. Black Panther reaches into the power of the hollow cosmic being and turns into the Red Panther as he attacks Doctor Doom.
T’Challa’s Red Panther armor might be his most powerful suit ever, as the armor gives him some incredible upgrades. Activating the Red Panther suit gives Black Panther “thrice blessed Vibranium Dambe boxing cords,” “stone from the Wakandan necropolis,” “armor of metallicized Orisha-blood,” and “antimagic defense protocols.” The Red Panther suit is T’Challa’s best defense against the magical Doctor Doom Supreme.
Unfortunately for T’Challa and the Avengers, Kid Thanos manages to plant a series of bombs across the Celestial base, seemingly leveling it in the process. However, Black Panther’s Red Panther armor should mean that the hero will survive the attack and is better prepared than ever before to deal with the evil threats from across the Multiverse. But, the question remains, will his fellow Avengers survive the attack? Readers will find out more soon, as Black Panther’s Red Panther armor debuts in Avengers #53 by Marvel Comics.
