A new trailer for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba season 3 teases the two new Hashira members that feature in the upcoming “Swordsmith Village Arc”. The series is adapted from Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga series that was published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine. The anime was adapted by Ufotable, with the first season airing in April 2019.

Following on from the events of season 2’s “Entertainment District Arc”, Demon Slayer season 3 will continue the journey of young demon slayer Tanjiro Kamado (Natsuki Hanae), his human-turned-demon sister Nezuko (Akari Kitō), and fellow slayer companions Zenitsu Agatsuma (Hiro Shimono) and Inosuke Hashibira (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka). Demon Slayer season 2 saw the group reunite after a destructive fight with two sibling demons in the Entertainment District, with Tanjiro’s future in the Demon Slayer Corps looking bright and the group being one step closer to finally defeating the powerful demon, Muzan Kibutsuji (Toshihiko Seki). A third season was confirmed shortly after season 2’s final episode aired, confirming that the new season would adapt the manga’s “Swordsmith Village Arc”. Now, a season 3 trailer teases two new characters who will join the show’s main cast.

Demon Slayer was the second bestselling manga in Japan in 2021, only behind the long-running popular title One Piece. Following a record-breaking run in Japanese theaters that saw it unseat Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away as the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Movie: Mugen Train became the highest-grossing film released in theaters worldwide in 2020. Demon Slayer has become beloved for its handling of its core characters, as well as Ufotable’s impressive use of 2D and 3D animation.

Despite the manga ending its original serialized run in May 2020, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba still remains one of the most popular series of recent years. Despite only debuting in 2016, the series has branched beyond its anime adaptation and original manga series into spin-off series, videogames, and character-focused light novels. While no solid release date has been confirmed, fans are sure to be excited for the next season, not only for Tanjiro and his friend’s return, but for Mitsuri and Muichirō having their moment to shine.
