A Supernatural podcast hosted by Rob Benedict and Richard Speight Jr. will premier later this week and promises guest appearances from other stars.
Supernatural fans rejoice as the show that just won’t quit finds its way back to life, thanks to a rewatch podcast set to launch later this month, hosted by two of the show’s cast members. The CW’s longest-running show started in 2005 and ran for 15 seasons before ending in November 2020. The series, which follows the Winchester brothers and various supernatural creatures trying to save the world over and over again, has a loyal fanbase that has stuck around through the show’s highs and lows.
A little more than a year after the show ended, Deadline reports that a new rewatch podcast hosted by two Supernatural alums is starting soon and will feature many cast members as guests. The podcast, called Supernatural Then and Now, is hosted by Richard Speight Jr., known for his role as the archangel Gabriel and Rob Benedict, who portrayed God throughout the show. The podcast will launch on Dean Winchester’s birthday, January 24, and already boasts Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as guests in the first two episodes.
Listeners will get to hear production stories from the writer’s room to the set, behind-the-scenes memories, and get a deeper look into the show’s lore. Despite the series’ inability to fade into cultural obscurity, the podcast will keep the show relevant for a while longer as The CW tries to figure out its next move after being put up for sale with a Supernatural spin-off series in the works. Supernatural Then and Now comes from Story Mill Media and will be written by Jessica Mason, author of The Binge Watcher’s Guide To Supernatural.
